Sending encouragement is really effective when you share Hope quotes with a friend.
Hope does not put us to shame.
The name of my business, And Hope Designs, comes from the verse in Romans that says, “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5)
This is a great verse to encourage because we can see purpose in suffering. We know that God uses every experience for our good and for His glory.
Trust a known God.
Card with Corrie Ten Boom quote that gives hope.
One of my favourite Hope quotes is this one by Corrie Ten Boom. Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God. This is a truth that I have repeated to myself many a time throughout the pandemic and it’s repercussions. Corrie Ten Boom knows what she’s talking about - I highly recommend reading her book, The Hiding Place to find out all about her life and how she is an authority on this topic of trusting in God when all seems lost.
Knowing who God is gives us hope.
Knowing who God is really helps to trust Him, and trust that He works for our good. I have created a set of 6 postcards which have affirmations of God’s character on them.
This I know set of 6 postcards to remind us who God is.
When we don’t know what the future holds, we do know who holds the future. And we know that He is faithful, kind, able, with us, in control and strong.
Having these cards framed in your home would be a great way to remain focused on truth which will undoubtedly increase hope and peace in your heart. Focusing on who God is and who we are in Him can only be good. Why not give them to a friend who needs to know God’s presence, ability, faithfulness and control over the circumstances of their life?
An entire poem of hope
Not so much a quote on hope as an entire poem, these words have been put to music by many Christian artists, and are sung in churches up and down the country. The poem was originally penned by William Cowper after a failed suicide attempt. The words are deeply poignant and so full of truth and Hope - you can get a print of this hymn beautifully hand lettered to remind you of the hope we have in Christ in the darkest of times.
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sov’reign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flow’r.
Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.
It seems our hope is found nowhere better than in the Lord, and I hope these resources and hope quotes are of use and comfort to you and those around you who need it.
