The Salmon of Knowledge is also known as the Big Fish. It is located on the quayside of the River Lagan in Belfast, making it a fantastic northern Irish landmark. It is a sculpture with ceramic scales celebrating the return of fish to the River Lagan. Each of the scales is a shade of blue or white and has parts of Belfast’s history on it - painting the fish in mosaic form was a really fun project, and it suited the ceramic mosaic form of the real fish sculpture.
