Ordinations are such wonderful events and a significant marker on a ministry journey. Celebrate a newly ordained minister with this purple hand lettered card.

Celebrate an ordination with a card featuring the Apostles’ Creed.

This card is an ordination card featuring the words “celebrating your ordination” hand lettered in a very light purple. This message is superimposed over the Apostles’ creed in a deep purple, which is hand lettered on a purple background that is darker still.

The colour purple has a lot of meaning in the a church and is used during lent and advent especially, so an ordained minister will wear purple during a significant portion of the year. 

The words of the Apostles’ Creed unite the church in its beliefs, and are central to an ordination and a minister’s role and job. The words written on the card are:

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.

Having attended my own father’s ordination, I know how meaningful these events are and how wonderful it is to know of friends, family and church family supporting you in this step in ministry and church life.
