5 Gift ideas to celebrate and bless a Christian dad on Father’s Day

There is no doubt that a Christian man is deserving of being honored, and Father's Day is a wonderful opportunity to do it from the perspective of his wife or his child. In the United Kingdom, Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June, which means that in 2024, it will be on the 19th of June.

I have some lovely options of elegant and fun gifts for your wonderful and generous Christian dad. These gifts will be loved and treasured by a Christian father not just because they provide encouragement in the Christian faith, but also because they were given to him on a day that is a perfect celebration of good fathers.

Without further ado, here are 5 ideas for lovely faith-filled Christian gifts a godly father will love.

1. A Christian mug—my cup overflows

And Hope Designs Mug Christian mug - my cup overflows

This mug is not only gorgeous to hold and sip from, it has a lovely shape and is really elegant. Deep blue ceramic with light speckling, the hand lettered words on the front say, “My cup overflows." The words are taken from Psalm 23 and reflect gratitude for the abundance God has given, but they are also great to have as a play on words printed on a mug.

This Christian mug is lovely and big, taking 370 mL, is a gorgeous shape, has a good weight and feel to it, and is ideal for a morning cup of coffee, a sneaky can of fizzy, or mid-afternoon tea. You could even serve his morning cuppa in it with breakfast in bed?!

Other mugs are available here if this My Cup Overflows mug isn’t the one for your dad.

2. A Christian lined notebook—identity in Christ

Continuing on the navy blue theme, this identity in Christ lined notebook is another great Christian gift for a wonderful father. A notebook is hand to have at all times, and can be used for so many different things. One man who has purchased this notebook from me in the past has told me he uses it for his home group. He is a home group leader, and prepares before each meeting in the notebook, take notes during the meeting and jots down prayer requests from other members. Keeping it all in one place with the study guide is very helpful for him. Another man mentioned he uses it to keep a note of points in sermons he hears, including verses that are mentioned that he wants to look up later on.

This notebook has 140 lovely thick lined pages, and is a lovely deep blue with hand lettered words that the Bible tells us about ourselves as children of God. It is called the Identity in Christ notebook, and there are dozens of truths on the front, which are so good to read over and even glance at when it is out on the table. Words such as "Chosen," "Citizen of Heaven," "Saved," "Not alone" and "Valuable". We all have days when we struggle to believe these truths about who we are in Christ, so give this gift to your dad to remind him of how amazing our God is to save us from our sins, but also intrinsically change who we are and our relationship with Him.

3. A rejuvenating Christian candle

A candle is not inherently "Christian," but the names of all my candles have been thought carefully about and inspired both by the scent of the candle and portions of scripture I feel go well with the feeling of the candle, its season, and its scent. My favourite candle is perfect for the seasons of spring and summer, just when Father's Day falls. "Still" is a lovely soy wax candle that has a deeply fragrant smell of rhubarb and a light hint of fresh mint to complement it. The smell reminds me of warm summer days spent in nature, where the air is still and all that can be heard is the gentle hum of bumble bees busy in nearby flowers.

"Still" was inspired by scripture, as an encouragement to quieten your heart and trust the Lord. This is something you can give your father, and you could even use these scriptures in your fathers day card message if you feel they fit. Psalm 37:7 says, "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him." a very well known verse in the Bible is Psalm 46:10 which says "Be still and know that I am God." Remind your dad with this lovely gift to stop striving and to surrender circumstances and work worries to God's sovereignty.

Remember in the New Testament when Jesus was out on a boat with his disciples in a storm, and he says "Quiet! Be still!" and the wind and the waves obey him. This is who we can trust with every portion of our lives. A final portion of scripture that inspired the name of this candle is in 1 Kings when Elijah hears God's in the still, small voice.

If rhubarb and fresh mint is not the scent for your dad, there are other options, all soy wax and all hand poured by me in Belfast.

4. An encouraging Christian wall art print

And Hope Designs has a lovely and always-growing collection of Christian wall art prints, all designed by Anna Hamill, so there will be something to suit all tastes and home decor styles. If you're in Northern Ireland or the North Coast of Ireland has a special place in your dad's heart, a new collection of wall art prints featuring famous landmarks drawn in a modern stained glass style might be right up his street—each is finished with a verse from scripture that fits the place.

There are two bright and bold prints with a rainbow of capital lettered words that say "Hope Sweet Hope" and "Today is a Good Day"—perfect for the dad who wakes up ready to face the day head-on. A fun print option has words from John 21 when Jesus is sitting on the shore cooking fish and calls out to his disciples, "Come and have breakfast." The print has those words on it but features a more modern breakfast of coffee and a croissant—it's a perfect print to have in the kitchen to remind him that God is present in those mundane, normal moments of every day.

My favourite wall art print is a deep blue print splattered with white specks and hand-lettered with the words "The heavens declare the glory of God." It brings awe to my mind and inspires worship of the God who made heaven and earth.

You can browse all the available Christian prints on my website. Why not choose something your dad will love and be encouraged by this Father's Day and for years to come? Each print is printed onto 310 gsm archival paper and will be as good as the day you got it for decades to come.

And Hope Designs, Christian wall art prints, various sizes and prices.

5. A wonderfully affirming Christian Father’s Day card

Make this Father's Day extra special by adding a personal touch to your gift with a thoughtful card. I can supply the card, and all you need to do is write a heartfelt message inside that will remind your dad of your love and appreciation for him.

I've shown you some lovely gift options for your dad (or your husband, if you're buying from your kids), and all you need now is a Christian Father's Day card to complete the gift. You can find some great options on my website, and here are my two favourite options if you're looking for something specifically faith-based. You can see all the Father's Day card options here, including lovely designs that aren't specifically Christian, but are all clean and safe (which is also hard to find in the mainstream world these days).

Thank you for being a godly example for me to follow is a wonderful sentiment to give to a great, godly dad.

Delighted to be part of your quiverful, dad is a card that is inspired by the verse in Psalm 127 which says"Like arrows in the hands of a warrior, so are children born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them." It’s a great and encouraging Christian card, perfect for Father's Day and will make your dad feel loved, valued and appreciated.

You can find all And Hope Designs' Father's Day card options here.

I hope this article helped inspire your fathers day gift choices and that you have found something just right to give your dad (or husband!!) to encourage him and show him how appreciated his care and example are in your life or the lives of your children.
